National Theatre Live: Dear England

This drama focuses on the challenges facing the England men's national football team and their struggle to overcome a history of tournament losses. The story follows manager Gareth Southgate as he attempts to change the team's psychological approach and address their poor record with penalty shootouts in order to achieve international success.

The production was directed by Rupert Goold and Christine Lalla. For Goold, this follows his previous work on True Story and Judy. It marks the first film for Lalla, who later directed National Theatre Live: The Misanthrope and National Theatre Live: Hamlet. Produced by the National Theatre and written by James Graham, the film features a cast of 25 credited performers.
