The Best Mother in the World

A garbage collector named Gal attempts to flee her abusive husband by traveling across São Paulo with her two young children. To shield them from the risks of the city streets, she presents the journey to her cousin's home as a thrilling adventure. While they are initially greeted with kindness and food upon arrival, the residence proves to be a trap, leaving Gal to fight for her own safety and the future of her children.

The drama was directed by Anna Muylaert, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Mariana Jaspe and Grace Passô. This production follows Muylaert's previous films, The Second Mother and The Business Women’s Club.
