Bloody Johann

Bloody Johann is a fantasy horror comedy set in Prague. The story follows Johann Faust, who returns to life after spending centuries in darkness. He unleashes a wave of terror involving mutants, zombies, and vampires while seeking revenge against his family and his former life. Throughout these events, the devil Mephistopheles manipulates the situation from a distance. The plot draws from the writing of Goethe as well as unpublished short stories by K. Sněgoňová and F. Kotleta.

The film was written and directed by Jakub Krumpoch and produced in the Czech Republic by companies including Bontonfilm and Orbis Pictures. The cast features Marek Holý in the lead role of Johann Faust, alongside Jan Dolanský as Mefisto, Věra Janků, Lenka Vlasáková, Martina Babišová, and Jana Bernášková. In total, 37 cast members are credited in the production. The movie has a runtime of 91 minutes and was released on January 14, 2024.
