Gavagai

Two actors, Maja and Nourou, begin a romantic relationship while filming a version of Medea in Senegal. After several months, they reunite at the movie's premiere in Berlin, where their previous feelings return. However, a racist incident disturbs their meeting and creates tension among those present. As the ancient tragedy plays out on the screen, a modern drama unfolds in the real world.

Directed and written by Ulrich Köhler, this drama is the second film in his career, following Bungalow from 2002. The movie is a co-production between Germany and France, produced by Sutor Kolonko and Good Fortune Films. The cast features Maren Eggert as Maja Tervooren and Jean-Christophe Folly as Nourou Cissokho, alongside Nathalie Richard, Mišel Matičević, Stefan Gota, and Anna Thiandoum. The film has a runtime of 89 minutes.
