The Masterpiece

A wealthy couple, Leo and Diana, take a broken television to a recycling center, where they meet Salif and Yousef, two scrap dealers. Diana invites the men to the couple's mansion to collect more discarded items. What begins as a simple exchange grows tense once Leo and Diana realize the visitors own something they want for themselves, and the balance of power between the two sides shifts.

The Masterpiece, originally titled La gran obra, is a 2024 Spanish short drama running about twenty minutes, directed by Àlex Lora Cercos from a screenplay by Alfonso Amador and Lluís Quílez, who also produced. Daniel Grao and Melina Matthews play Leo and Diana, with Babou Cham and Adam Nourou as Salif and Yousef, and Guido Grao appearing as the couple's son. The film was made by Euphoria Productions, Monkeys Filmakers and Calabaza Films.

On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.1 out of 10 from more than three hundred votes. That figure points to a generally favorable response from viewers, who have engaged with the short in modest but steady numbers since its release in May 2024.
