- Tone Danielsen plays Philip’s mother. The actress is actually the mother of Anders Danielsen Lie, the actor playing Philip.
- The image of the old writer Sten Egil Dal is based on the Norwegian poet, writer, and translator Tor Ulven (1953-1995). Ulven gave only one interview throughout his life. Nevertheless, he is considered one of Norway’s best literary figures of the 1980s and 1990s.
