"Horton" is the second film starring Jim Carrey based on the stories of Dr. Seuss. The first was "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".
In one scene, the Kangaroo's child mentions an imaginary friend named "Thidwick." This is a reference to another Dr. Seuss story – "Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose."
