Mo' Money is a 1992 crime comedy about Johnny Stewart, a small-time hustler in Chicago who survives by running petty scams alongside his younger brother Seymour. After an arrest, a police lieutenant who was a friend of their late father pushes Johnny to change his life and helps him get a job at a credit card company. There he falls for Amber Evans, a co-worker, and decides that his wages will never be enough to win her over. He begins stealing company credit cards, which draws the attention of the security chief, a shady figure who forces Johnny into far larger criminal schemes.
Damon Wayans wrote the screenplay and stars as Johnny, with Stacey Dash as Amber, Joe Santos as Lieutenant Walsh, John Diehl as the security chief, Harry Lennix and Marlon Wayans, Damon's brother, among a credited cast of fifty-three. Peter MacDonald directed, following Rambo III and preceding The NeverEnding Story III and Legionnaire. The film was produced by Michael I. Rachmil for Columbia Pictures.
Released in July 1992, the film runs 97 minutes. Against a budget of about 17 million dollars it took in roughly 40 million worldwide, a solid commercial return. Audience ratings sit at 5.6 on IMDb from some 8,800 votes and 5.6 on TMDB from around 160 votes, while a critics' rating of 4.3 from 25 reviews places it somewhat below those audience scores.
