Indira and Sunny marry in secret after her parents oppose the match, but their elopement is planned for a Tuesday, and the town of Ratodi holds a strange rule about that day: every house has two doors, and the smaller one must be left open on Tuesday evening. The couple fails to return home in time to keep that custom.
Sunny believes a curse has fallen on him. A ghost named Kakuda, said to travel through the small door, punishes anyone who leaves it shut. Indira turns to a ghost hunter for help, and together they look for a way to break the curse.
Kakuda is a comedy-horror film from India directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. It is the fifth of Sarpotdar's seven credited features, following the 2024 release Munjya. Ritesh Deshmukh plays Victor, with Sonakshi Sinha as Indira, Saqib Saleem as Sunny, Aasif Khan as Kilvish and Hemant Singh as Bulbula. Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg wrote the screenplay, and Ronnie Screwvala produced it through RSVP Movies. Its 117-minute runtime mixes laughs with fear.
On IMDb, Kakuda holds a 5.3 rating from 6,500 votes, a below-average score for the site.
