National Theatre Live: Nye

As he faces death, Aneurin Nye Bevan looks back at the defining moments of his existence. This journey through his memories traces his path from a young child to a laborer in the coal mines, and eventually to his role in Parliament where he clashed with Winston Churchill and established the National Health Service.

Directed by Rufus Norris, this historical comedy-drama is the third film in his chronological body of work, following Broken and London Road. The screenplay was written by Tim Price and features Michael Sheen in the lead role of Bevan. The supporting cast includes Sharon Small, Remy Beasley, Jon Furlong, and Roger Evans, with a total of 24 credited performers. Produced in the United Kingdom by the National Theatre, Neal Street Productions, and the Wales Millennium Centre, the film has a runtime of 146 minutes.
