The Clothes in the Wardrobe

Set in the suburbs of Croydon, this drama follows Margaret, a reserved middle-class woman pressured by her mother to marry a neighbor named Syl. Although Margaret secretly dislikes her older fiancé and they both still live with their parents, she submits to the engagement to satisfy social expectations. However, Margaret has been acting unusual since returning from a trip to Egypt, where she visited a family friend. As wedding preparations advance, her internal conflict and the secrets from her time abroad threaten the planned marriage.

Directed by Waris Hussein, the film was released in 1993 and follows his previous work on Switched at Birth. The movie features a cast including Lena Headey as Margaret, David Threlfall as Syl, and Jeanne Moreau as Lili, alongside Joan Plowright, Julie Walters, and Maggie Steed.
