Hurricane Streets

Marcus is a teenager growing up on the streets of New York City, caught between the criminal path taken by his friends and a girl who wants him to stay out of trouble. The film follows his struggle to choose between loyalty to the people around him and a chance at a different life.

Released in 1997, Hurricane Streets runs 86 minutes and blends crime, drama and romance. It was directed by Morgan J. Freeman, who also wrote the screenplay and produced the film alongside Galt Niederhoffer and Gill Holland. It was the first feature he directed, followed later by Desert Blue, American Psycho II: All American Girl and Homecoming. Brendan Sexton III plays Marcus, with Antoine McLean, Mtume Gant, Carlo Alban, David Roland Frank and Heather Matarazzo among the cast. The production was handled by United Artists, Posthorn Pictures and Giv'en Films.
