The Shrine

A group of friends visiting a small Japanese town becomes alarmed when one of their companions disappears. While searching for her at a sanctuary depicted in one of her paintings, the group experiences frightening events and physical injuries. Sensing a malevolent force at TMDB, Yu-mi seeks help from Myung-jin, a shaman from her past. Myung-jin teams up with Han-ju, a local spiritual leader, to protect the group from the entity lurking within the shrine.

This horror mystery was directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri, following his previous works Bungo: Stories of Desire, My Man, #Manhole, All of Tokyo!, and Meisou Kazoku. Produced by Lee Eun-kyoung, the film features a cast including Kim Jae-joong, Kong Seong-ha, Ko Hoon-jeong, 나현진, and Song Woo-joo. The production was a joint effort between Korea and Japan, involving Mystery Pictures and Library Company. Released on February 6, 2026, the film has a runtime of 95 minutes.
