The Male Gaze: Boy Trouble is a drama consisting of four short films set in four different countries. The narrative follows four men whose lives are altered by unexpected encounters, forcing them to reconsider their identities and long-held beliefs. As these situations grow more complex, a boy enters the story to offer a different point of view.
The production was handled by NQV Media in the United States. It was directed by a team including Sacha Amaral, for whom this was the first of two films released in 2024. Rafael Ruiz Espejo also directed, following his 2016 work Uneven and preceding his 2026 film The Last First Time. The directing team was completed by Stefan Langthaler, who also directed Nightfaces in 2024, as well as Luis Pacheco and Dennis Perinango. The ensemble cast features Günter Tolar as Arthur, Kristóf Gellén as Fabiu, and Birgit Stimmer as Martha, alongside Ali Cabanillas, Víctor Contreras, and Marco Antonio Miranda.
