Belonging

After their lives end, individuals are visited by a figure associated with belonging who offers them a chance to address their regrets. Those who wish to return to the living world may do so by transforming into inanimate objects. The story follows several people who choose this path to stay near their families, including a wife who becomes a mug for her husband and a mother who turns into baseball rosin to watch her son play. Other figures become a camera and a blue jungle gym to remain in the presence of their loved ones during their final moments.

This Japanese drama was written and directed by Kahori Higashi. Within the director's career, it follows her 2024 film Memories of His Scent. The production was handled by ENBU Seminar. The film has a total runtime of 90 minutes.
