What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took place over three years in the Kronotsky Nature Reserve in Kamchatka. There were three expeditions with a total duration of 26 months. Several hundred hours of footage were shot.
- The uniqueness of the film lies in the fact that the same animal 'plays' the main character from beginning to end. As a rule, several animals are used to play the same role.
- The wind was not intended to be the main character of the film, but it struck the filmmakers with its transformation during filming. The project's authors filmed the lives of several pairs of Kamchatka foxes, and the film was long titled "Kamchatka. A Tale in Foxes." But only one pair – “Wind and Lava” – made it into the final cut.
