Quicksand -reverse-

Quicksand -reverse- is a Japanese drama that reimagines the novel Manji by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki. The story follows Kōtarō Sonoda, who leaves his office job to pursue his goal of becoming a painter. While attending art school, he meets a young man named Mitsuru Usami. Sonoda begins a physical relationship with Usami, causing him to drift away from his wife, Yayoi. The situation becomes more complicated when it is revealed that Usami is engaged to someone else.

Tadaaki Horai directed the film, which is the first of two works listed in his career before Naomi -reverse-. The screenplay was written by Shoko Fujimura. The movie features a main cast including Shion Suzuki as Sonoda Kotaro, Wataru Monma as Usami Hikari, Erina Nakazaki as Yayoi, and Shuri Tanaka as Watanuki Kaori.
