Ein Münchner im Himmel - Der Tod ist erst der Anfang is a comedy about Ludwig Brunner, a taxi driver from Munich who finds himself in heaven after being hit by a streetcar. To return to Bavaria and avoid becoming an angel, he must find a way to quickly improve his karma balance.

The film was directed by David Dietl, following his 2025 production Long Story Short and preceding Emil and the Detectives, also released in 2026. The screenplay was written by Marcus Pfeiffer. The main cast features Maximilian Brückner as Ludwig Brunner, alongside Hannah Herzsprung, Momo Beier, Michaela May, Marcel Mohab, and Franz-Xaver Zeller.

Produced by Wiedemann & Berg Film, Leonine Studios, and Epo-Film in Germany and Austria, the movie earned 2 million USD at the worldwide box office.
