Natural Phenomena

Set in rural Cuba during the late 1980s, this drama follows Vilma, a young nurse living on a remote ranch near Santa Clara with her husband, Ivan, who has a disability. Expecting a child, Vilma longs for a better environment to raise her baby. Despite her medical training and skill with a firearm, she remains trapped in a difficult existence. Her life changes when a natural event transports her to a new place where her hopes for a different future appear possible.

The film was written and directed by Marcos Antonio Díaz Sosa. The cast is led by Andrea Doimeadios in the role of Vilma and Reinier Díaz as Iván, with supporting performances by Mario Guerra, Osvaldo Doimeadiós, Armando Miguel Gómez, and Maikel Amelia Reyes. This production was a collaboration between companies from Argentina, Cuba, Uruguay, and France, including Petit Film, Gema Films, Cinevinay, and Marinca Filmes. The final movie has a runtime of 80 minutes.
