Poppies in Wind

Poppies in Wind is a Romanian drama centered on a young man who anticipates the arrival of his former girlfriend. As he waits, he is pursued by the persistent sound of his own footsteps.

The film was directed and written by Matei Rugină, who also served as a producer alongside Dragoș Basamac. This project is the first in a sequence of films by Rugină, followed by Soneriada in 2025. The short film, which has a runtime of seven minutes, was produced by Menti Productions and features Matei Călin in the lead role of the young man, with Maia Oancea appearing as the girl. It was released on June 5, 2024.
