During a school trip to a paleontological site in Atapuerca, a group of teenagers finds the naked body of a local young woman. The victim is positioned in a fetal pose where a Neanderthal burial replica should have been. This discovery leads Inspector Silvia Guzmán and former officer Daniel Velarde to investigate a crime that mirrors a ritualistic murder from six years prior, suggesting the original killer may have returned.

This crime thriller was directed by Manuel Ríos San Martín, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Victoria dal Vera. The film is a joint production between Spain and Germany, involving companies such as RTVE and Nadcon Film.
