A drifter named Harry robs the bodies of a caravan massacred by the bandit Pratt and then crosses paths with Tim, the man Pratt blames for the deaths of his two sons. The two become friends and go on the run together, eventually hiding out at Harry's farm, but Pratt closes in and their refuge does not stay secret for long.
A Sky Full of Stars for a Roof is an Italian Western directed by Giulio Petroni, released in August 1968. It followed his Death Rides a Horse by a year and came before Tepepa. The screenplay is by Bernardino Zapponi and Stefano Strucchi, and Gianni Hecht Lucari produced. Giuliano Gemma plays Tim, with Mario Adorf as Harry, Magda Konopka as Dorothy McDonald, Federico Boido as Roger Pratt, Julie Menard and Anthony Dawson in supporting roles.
The film runs 97 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.9 from 684 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 5.9 from 30 votes. The two sets of viewers agree closely on the film, which sits in the middle territory for the spaghetti Westerns of its period: a modest genre entry carried by the pairing of its two leads rather than a widely celebrated one.
