Tethered Wings

Tethered Wings is a French drama about Paul, who is unexpectedly reunited with Joseph on his wedding day. This encounter forces Paul to confront memories of a forbidden romance they shared as teenagers during the summer of 1983. Their relationship at the time led to violent homophobic harassment, culminating in a tragic night that altered both of their lives. Years later, this shared history resurfaces, causing Paul to question his past decisions and emotions.

The TV movie was directed by Thierry Binisti, following his work on Hortense and The Bodin’s Investigate in Corsica, and preceding Le combat d’Alice. The screenplay was written by Alexis Bayet and Alain Layrac, and the film was produced by Jean Nainchrik through Septembre Productions and Mediawan Rights. The cast features Roby Schinasi and Jérémy Kapone as the adult versions of Paul and Joseph, while Max Libert and Alexis Rosenstiehl play the characters as adolescents. The supporting cast includes Émilie Caen as Blanche and Julien Tortora as Charles.
