Rapid Fire

Rapid Fire is an action thriller centred on Jake Lo, a college student who witnesses a murder committed by a Mafia figure. His testimony could put the killer behind bars, which turns him into a target. When the federal agents assigned to protect him prove untrustworthy, Jake is left exposed in a city where drug traffickers and mobsters both want him silenced. His only dependable ally is Mace Ryan, a disillusioned Chicago police officer who sees the young man as a means of bringing down the men he has long pursued.

Dwight H. Little directed the film, the fifth in the directing career listed for him, following Marked for Death and coming before Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home. Alan B. McElroy wrote the screenplay, and Robert Lawrence produced. Brandon Lee plays Jake Lo, with Powers Boothe as Mace Ryan, Nick Mancuso as Antonio Serrano, Raymond J. Barry as Agent Frank Stewart, Kate Hodge as Karla Withers and Tzi Ma as Kinman Tau. The production was made by 20th Century Fox and Robert Lawrence Productions across the United States and Thailand.

Made for about 10 million dollars, the film returned roughly 14 million worldwide, a modest result against its cost.
