Nicolas Cage's character teaches his assistant the basics of Wing Chun. This martial art is considered an applied branch of Wushu.
In the chase scene, Nicolas Cage's character rides a BMW K1200S motorcycle.
During filming on September 19th, a military coup took place in the country, but the shooting process was halted for only 6 hours. It was jokingly claimed that the only shots fired during the coup were those fired on the set.
After finishing work on this film, Nicolas Cage had work lined up on several projects at once. To save time, sets with identical decorations were built in different locations.
