Philip Rules

Philip Rules is a drama about a twenty-five-year-old man with Down syndrome named Philip. While he shares a close bond with his mother, his energetic nature often leads him to break rules and face difficulties. When his mother is working, Philip secretly visits a local coffee shop to observe the staff. He dreams of becoming a barista because he believes coffee brings happiness to others, though he faces obstacles in achieving this goal.

The film was directed by Roman Kosov, appearing first in a chronological list of his directed works before Roads of Victory. The screenplay was written by Anna Sobolevskaya, Ekaterina Denisova, and Grigoriy Podzemelnyy, who also served as a producer alongside Renat Davletyarov and Mikhail Kurbatov. The production was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Kinoprime Foundation, Interfest, and Smart Film.

Since its release on May 22, 2025, the Russian production has received a mixed response from viewers. On IMDb, the movie holds a rating of 4/10 based on 506 votes.
