Set in a mining town in Patagonia, this drama follows a young transgender woman named Carlita who pursues her ambition of working in a coal mine. Upon turning 18, she seeks to enter the underground galleries, facing a long-standing local superstition. This folk belief, which had persisted for 80 years, suggests that the presence of women in the mines could cause the tunnels to collapse. The story focuses on her struggle to overcome these traditions and secure her right to work in the region's primary industry.
The film was directed by Agustina Macri and written by Erika Halvorsen and Mara Pescio. It is a joint production between Argentina and Spain, involving companies such as Morena Films, The Warning of Rivard, and Pensa & Rocca Producciones. The cast is led by Lux Pascal in the role of Carlita Rodríguez, supported by Laura Grandinetti, Romina Escobar, Simone Mercado, Federico Marzullo, and Agostina Innella. A total of 49 actors and 67 crew members are credited in the production. Released on June 12, 2025, the movie has a runtime of 94 minutes.
