Front Row

Zohra Bouderbala and her five children travel to the coast in Algiers accompanied by their pet. The family aims to arrive early to secure a prime spot at the water's edge, a common struggle during the summer season when latecomers find their view of the sea blocked by numerous umbrellas and canopies. While they seek a peaceful day, family secrets and conflicts with neighbors complicate their trip.

This drama was written, produced, and directed by Merzak Allouache. It is the second film he has directed, following his 2019 work Autumn Landscapes. The production was a collaboration between companies from Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and France. The main cast features Fatiha Ouared as Zohra Bouderbala, Nabil Asli as Hakim, and Bouchra Roy as Safia Kadouri. The film has a runtime of 86 minutes and was released on April 22, 2026.
