From Ground Zero

From Ground Zero is a collection of 22 short films produced by filmmakers living in Gaza. Created during a period of conflict, the project provides a platform for young artists to share their perspectives on daily life within the Palestinian enclave. The segments range from three to seven minutes in length and utilize various styles, including animation, documentary, experimental cinema, and fiction. Together, these stories document a wide spectrum of human emotion and experience, focusing on the tragedies, hardships, and resilience of the local population.

The project was produced by Rashid Masharawi and involves a large group of directors, including Wissam Moussa and Ahmed Hassouna. For the latter, this 2025 release precedes the 2026 film Citizen Osama. The cast features Alaa Nijim, Aws Al-Banna, Kamel Mohammad, Karim Satoum, Nidal Damo, and Thaer Abu Zubaida. A co-production between Palestine, Jordan, Qatar, France, and Switzerland, the film was supported by production companies such as DFI and Metafora Production.

With a total runtime of 117 minutes, the film has received a positive reception from viewers, holding a rating of 7.4 on TMDB based on 20 votes.
