Highlander: The Source

Duncan MacLeod, the Immortal, wanders through a world descending into chaos and death, haunted by memories of happier days with the woman he loved. Finding a small group of allies, including the oldest of the Immortals, his friend Methos, and the mortal Watcher Joe Dawson, he sets out to find the source of Immortal power. The search takes them across Eastern Europe toward a legendary place that opens only at a moment of cosmic alignment, and the group must get past a being who guards it and will not let them through.

The film is directed by Brett Leonard, who had made his name with The Lawnmower Man in 1992 and went on to make Virtuosity and Hideaway in 1995, Man-Thing in 2005 and Triumph in 2021. Adrian Paul reprises his role as Duncan MacLeod from the television series and also produced, alongside Peter S. Davis and William N. Panzer. The cast includes Thekla Reuten, Cristian Solimeno, Peter Wingfield and Jim Byrnes.

Made for around 13 million dollars, this was the fifth entry in the Highlander film series, following the previous four. It performed poorly with audiences: on IMDb it holds a rating of 3 out of 10 from about 10,000 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 4.1 out of 10 from roughly 241 votes.
