A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Peppermint Patty decides to invite herself and several friends to Charlie Brown's house for a Thanksgiving dinner, even though Charlie Brown already has plans to visit his grandmother. Unable to cook anything beyond cold cereal, he turns to Linus, Snoopy and Woodstock for help, and Snoopy sets about preparing a holiday meal of his own. The gathering tests Charlie Brown's patience while his friends try to give him a Thanksgiving worth remembering.

The 25-minute animated television special was released in 1973 and comes from United Feature Syndicate, Lee Mendelson Film Productions and Bill Melendez Productions. Phil Roman directed it, the first of five titles in his directing credits and the earliest of the Peanuts specials he went on to make. Bill Melendez directed as well; among his credits it follows A Charlie Brown Christmas, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Boy Named Charlie Brown and Snoopy, Come Home, and precedes Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown. Charles M. Schulz wrote the screenplay, and Melendez and Lee Mendelson produced. The voice cast includes Todd Barbee as Charlie Brown, Robin Kohn as Lucy, Stephen Shea as Linus, Hilary Momberger-Powers as Sally, Christopher DeFaria as Peppermint Patty and Jimmy Ahrens as Marcie.

Viewers have kept the special in steady affection across the decades, rating it 7.7 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 14,000 votes and 7.3 out of 10 on TMDB.
