A television star known for playing a devoted mother and wife seeks refuge in Vermont after a public scandal ruins her reputation before the holidays. Although she intends to stay at a luxury resort, a booking mistake forces her to stay at a small bed and breakfast. While there, she forms a bond with the owner, an astronomy teacher, by helping him organize a Christmas production for local children.
