Cosmos

Set in a remote village in the Yucatán, this drama follows the relationship between Lena, a 68-year-old widow, and Leon, a 62-year-old Mayan man who guards spiritual and natural secrets. Despite coming from different backgrounds and facing the physical decline of old age, the two develop a profound emotional bond. The story focuses on themes of solidarity and the dignity found in small acts of love during the later stages of life.

The film was written and directed by Germinal Roaux, who used black and white cinematography and a slow, ritualistic pace consistent with his previous works. The lead roles are played by Ángela Molina as Lena and Andrés Catzín as Leon. A co-production between Mexico, France, and Switzerland, the movie was produced by Close Up Films, Cinevinay, and Nour Films. It has a total runtime of 153 minutes and was released on February 19, 2026.
