Short description
Maxine, an American filmmaker, travels to Paris during Fashion Week to produce a project about the industry. While navigating the professional demands of the event, she faces a personal crisis following a serious medical diagnosis. Her path intersects with Ada, a model from South Sudan, and Angèle, a French makeup artist. Despite their different backgrounds and individual struggles, the three women form an unexpected bond of solidarity behind the glamour of the high-fashion world. Along the way, Maxine develops a romantic connection with Anton, a cinematographer on her crew.
The drama was written and directed by Alice Winocour, following her previous work on Augustine, Disorder, Proxima, and Revoir Paris. The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maxine Walker, alongside Anyier Anei, Ella Rumpf, Louis Garrel, Vincent Lindon, and Garance Marillier. What's left behind the scenes
- The drama by director and screenwriter Alice Vinokur was the first feature film to be shot inside an exhibition hall and the Chanel atelier in Paris. The film crew was given free access to fashion shows and behind the scenes, as well as the opportunity to communicate with seamstresses and other employees. All logos, however, were removed from the footage.
