Impatience of the Heart

A young soldier develops a complex relationship with a woman who uses a wheelchair after an initial encounter leaves him feeling ashamed. Driven by pity and a need for purpose, he pretends to have romantic feelings for her and encourages her belief that she might walk again. However, his fixation on her recovery and her own growing suspicions lead to a destructive cycle that brings misfortune to those around them.

This German drama was directed by Lauro Cress, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Florian Plumeyer. The film features Giulio Brizzi in the role of Isaac, alongside Ladina von Frisching as Edith and Livia Matthes as Ilona.
