Meets the World

Yukari is a twenty-seven-year-old woman struggling with her sense of self and the anxiety of seeing her peers move forward in life. While living in Kabukicho, she befriends Rai, a mysterious hostess who expresses recurring thoughts of suicide. As they become roommates, Yukari attempts to help Rai by searching for a former partner who might still hold importance to her. Simultaneously, Yukari faces pressure from her mother to find a suitable partner to stabilize her own life, though she spends much of her time with Asahi, a friendly but married host club employee. Based on a novel by Hitomi Kanehara, the story explores these intersecting relationships and the search for emotional stability.

This drama was directed and written by Daigo Matsui. It is the fifth film in his career, following The Supporting Actors in Byplaywood, Just Remembering, Undead Lovers, and Rewrite. The movie features Hana Sugisaki in the lead role of Yukari, appearing alongside Kotona Minami, Rihito Itagaki, Yu Aoi, and Kiyohiko Shibukawa. Produced by companies including Shueisha and TV Tokyo, the film was released on October 24, 2025, with a total runtime of 126 minutes.
