The Turtle

A psychiatrist keeps his life tightly ordered, but beneath that calm surface he carries a fear of being left behind and a worry that keeps growing. A sudden death brings a mysterious figure out of his past and back into his life, and the balance he has worked to maintain begins to come apart.

The Turtle is an Iranian drama directed by Bahman Kamyar, who also wrote the screenplay and produced it. It is his second film as director, following Sheep, which came out in 2024. The film runs 97 minutes and was released on September 24, 2025.

The premise turns on the contrast between the psychiatrist's controlled exterior and the anxiety underneath, with the return of someone from his past unsettling a world he had carefully arranged.
