A Land Within

Set in South Tyrol in 1961, the story follows Paul, a young man who wishes to leave his village to study painting. His plans are disrupted when his older brother, Anton, becomes a wanted terrorist involved in separatist violence. Paul is forced to remain at the family farm to support Anton's wife, Anna, and their young son. As the political situation in the region escalates and the police intervene, Paul is pulled into a cycle of violence. Meanwhile, Anna struggles against the radical views of her husband and the restrictive patriarchal society of the era.

This drama was written and directed by Michael Kofler. The film features a cast including Thomas Prenn as Paul, Aenne Schwarz as Anne, and Laurence Rupp as Anton, with a total of 20 credited cast members. A co-production between Germany, Austria, and Italy, the movie was produced by Starhaus Filmproduktion, Helios Sustainable Films, and KGP Filmproduktion.
