The Devil Within

Set in Spain during the 1980s, this thriller follows a French family on a trip to the father's childhood village. While traveling with his pregnant mother and father to learn about his heritage, ten-year-old Philippe is stranded when the family vehicle breaks down. This accident brings them to a scrapyard on the edge of a deserted town, where they meet the owners, Alicia and Miguel. The encounter connects the visiting family with the scrapyard owners, who are struggling with the disappearance of a son.

Directed by Rubén Pérez-Barrena, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jesús Miguel Quintana, the film is a joint production between Spain and Uruguay from Mother Superior and La Canica Films. The cast features Tamar Novas as Miguel and Marina Salas as Alicia, alongside Iván Marcos, Annick Weerts, and Alban Petit. The production included a credited crew of 43 people and a cast of 21 performers. With a runtime of 84 minutes, the movie has received a modest reception from its limited audience, holding a rating of 5.3/10 based on 10 votes on TMDB.
