What's left behind the scenes

  • Sibyll Shepherd called the film close to being the worst in the world in her autobiography, and described her colleagues, along with herself, as a "rather sad group of actors trying to revive their failed careers."
  • Jan-Michael Vincent suffered from alcoholism during filming, and once, when he didn't show up on time, the director had to persuade Sibyll Shepherd and Martin Landau to work that day, even though they had the day off.
  • One of the explosions in the film turned out to be more powerful than planned, and the resulting fire damaged all the wiring in the town where filming took place. The lights went out for two hours, and Greydon Clark had to pay for the outage.
