Short description
In a small town in New Mexico, two children and an adult witness the landing of an alien spacecraft. Twenty-five years later, the children reunite as adults in the same location. The town is experiencing a series of bizarre livestock mutilations, which soon escalate into the violent murder and mutilation of humans. As these events unfold, the protagonists must face the consequences of their childhood encounter with extraterrestrials.
The film was directed and produced by Greydon Clark, marking his fourth directorial effort following Black Shampoo, Hi-Riders, and Without Warning. The screenplay was written by Ken Wheat, Jim Wheat, and Curtis Burch. The movie stars Jan-Michael Vincent, Cybill Shepherd, Martin Landau, Raymond Burr, Neville Brand, and Brad Rearden.

What's left behind the scenes
- Jan-Michael Vincent suffered from alcoholism during filming, and once, when he didn't show up on time, the director had to persuade Sibyll Shepherd and Martin Landau to work that day, even though they had the day off.
- One of the explosions in the film turned out to be more powerful than planned, and the resulting fire damaged all the wiring in the town where filming took place. The lights went out for two hours, and Greydon Clark had to pay for the outage.
- Sibyll Shepherd called the film close to being the worst in the world in her autobiography, and described her colleagues, including herself, as a "rather sad group of actors trying to revive their failed careers."
