Donkey Days

Anna and Charlotte are sisters who have spent their lives competing for the affection of their mother. When they return to their childhood home in Northern Germany, old conflicts resurface. As they search for answers, they uncover several family secrets, including the origin of some anonymous ashes and their mother's connection to a donkey farm in Hungary. Through this process, the two women attempt to reconcile their differences and build a new sense of trust.

This drama was written and directed by Rosanne Pel and produced by Floor Onrust through Family Affair Films and Junafilm. The production is a collaboration between Germany, the Netherlands, and the Netherlands Antilles. The main cast features Jil Krammer as Anna and Susanne Wolff as Charlotte, with Hildegard Schmahl and Carla Juri both portraying the mother, Ines, at different ages.
