Buddy

A group of children with no memories of their former lives are trapped in a surreal television show for kids. While the setting initially appears cheerful, the program is run by a singing orange unicorn who becomes increasingly unstable. As the creature begins to kill those who misbehave, the surviving children realize they are being replaced by new cast members and attempt to escape the dimension.

This horror comedy was directed by Casper Kelly, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jamie King. It is the fourth film in Kelly's directorial career, following Too Many Cooks, Adult Swim Yule Log 2: Branchin' Out, and V/H/S/Halloween. The cast includes Keegan-Michael Key, who provides the voice for Buddy the Unicorn, alongside Cristin Milioti, Delaney Quinn, Caleb Williams, Madison Polan, and Tristan Borders.

Produced by BoulderLight Pictures, Low Spark Films, SIPUR, and SUBSTANCE, the movie was a financial success. It earned 23 million USD at the worldwide box office against a budget of 3 million USD. Audience reception has been positive, with the film holding a 7.9 rating on TMDB based on 62 votes.
