Midsummer Fruit

Ayumi and Ryoma operate a grape farm together. Every winter, Ryoma travels to Tokyo for work, leaving Ayumi to manage their home and land while living with her mother-in-law. Their relationship becomes strained as Ryoma reacts coldly to her phone calls. While in the city, Ryoma reconnects with Chihiro, a childhood friend who previously had feelings for him, and the two begin a romantic involvement. Simultaneously, Ayumi develops a close relationship with a younger man named Kusakabe, eventually leading to an affair.

This Japanese drama was directed by Shinji Imaoka and written by Matsumoto Minoru. It is the sixth film in Imaoka's career, following Shape of My Heart and preceding Kagi. The movie features a cast including Abe Miho as Ayumi, Eita Okuno as Ryoma, Gaku Sano as Kusakabe, and Akiko Nishina as Ryoma's mother. Released on May 17, 2025, the film has a runtime of 85 minutes.
