If Birds Believed in God is a drama centered on Ismail, a Palestinian photographer living in the United States. The story takes place over a single day, focusing on Ismail's internal conflict regarding his cultural identity. This struggle between pride and shame is sparked when his mother gives him a traditional Palestinian scarf that belonged to his grandfather, who was displaced during the 1948 Nakba. These personal tensions unfold while violence against Palestinians increases in the surrounding environment.

The film was written and directed by Samer Saifan, who also served as a producer alongside Natalia Hess and Darren Zeng. The cast is led by Adam Budron in the role of Ismail, supported by Nasser Faris, Veracity Butcher, Jade Ziane, Leyla Modirzadeh, and Eyas Elkhateeb.
