Set in a technical school on the outskirts of Rome, this drama follows an English teacher and her relationship with twenty-four eighteen-year-old students. The class is considered the most difficult in the institute, and the students initially treat their teacher with hostility and a voyeuristic interest in her personal life. Despite their protests and constant conflict, she insists on conducting lessons strictly in English. Over the course of the school year, the teacher attempts to connect with her pupils, exploring their loneliness and desire for status. Their bond evolves through cycles of enthusiasm and disappointment leading up to the final baccalaureate exams.
The film was directed by Umberto Riccioni Carteni, following his previous works Dicono di te and The Love Scam. He also served as a producer on the project alongside Francesco Palazzi. The screenplay was written by Gaja Cenciarelli and Herbert Simone Paragnani. The cast is led by Anna Ferzetti in the role of the teacher, supported by Sara Silvestro, Zoe Massenti, Anita Serafini, Fabio Bizzarro, and Federico Micheli, with a total of twenty-six credited performers. The production was a collaboration between RAI Cinema, Vision Distribution, Europictures, and On Production.
