The Furies

When a semi-professional men's hockey team takes over the local arena in Waterloo, amateur women's leagues are pushed out. In response, an impulsive hockey player and a former derby champion in her eighties team up to fight back. They recruit various marginalized people from the city to form a secret roller derby team. Supported by the Women's Club, the group aims to demonstrate the appeal of women's sports and use their solidarity as a form of resistance.

This Canadian comedy was directed by Mélanie Charbonneau, who also directed Out Standing in 2025. The screenplay was written by Gabrielle Côté, who also stars in the film as Mélissa.
