The Mad Empress

In St. Petersburg, three friends named Lera, Valya, and Olya conduct a mystical ritual for amusement, resulting in the sudden appearance of Catherine the Great in their kitchen. The empress quickly adapts to the modern world by experimenting with coffee, using a ride-sharing app, and visiting a dance club. While the women initially enjoy the situation, they eventually realize that the world around them is beginning to transform.

This Russian adventure comedy was directed by Radda Novikova and written by Andrey Taratukhin and Elena Verner. The production was handled by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Nashe Kino, and the Nikita Vladimirov film company. Nikita Vladimirov also served as a producer alongside Maxim Rogalsky and Vasiliy Rovenskiy.

Since its release in December 2025, the film has received generally positive responses from viewers. It holds a rating of 7.7/10 on IMDb based on 58 votes and a 6.5/10 on TMDB from 3 votes.
