When It Goes Dark

Nina and Richard are a married couple who have grown to dislike each other. Despite their unhappiness, they are prevented from divorcing by a pact written on a napkin while intoxicated, which stipulates that the person responsible for ending the marriage forfeits all claims to their shared assets. Richard, a gynecologist, attempts to trick Nina, an ambitious chef, into cheating during the launch of her new restaurant by asking a friend to seduce her. Upon discovering the plot, Nina decides to retaliate, leading to a chaotic evening of culinary surprises and misunderstandings.

The comedy was directed by Andy Fehu, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Michal Baláž and Michaela Doležalová. The film stars Petra Hřebíčková as Nina and Tomáš Maštalír as Richard, with supporting roles played by Faraz Alam, Petra Polnišová, Martin Pechlát, and Vojtěch Kotek. Produced by Bontonfilm, love.FRAME, Ministerstvo kultury ČR, and Národní plán obnovy, the movie is a co-production between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Since its release on February 12, 2026, it has earned 1 million USD at the worldwide box office.
