What's left behind the scenes

  • Miramax planned to release the film, shot in 2000, in 2001, but it was shelved in the United States. Several reasons were cited – from an unsympathetic lead character to offensive statements made by journalist and screenwriter Elizabeth Wurtzel about the September 11, 2001 tragedy, and even Wurtzel's own opinion that the film turned out "terrible." In 2005, the film finally aired on Starz!. All the films gathering dust on the shelves saw the light of day after Harvey and Bob Weinstein left Miramax.
